Accommodation in the Kendal Area

Kendal is a fabulous place to visit, whatever time of the year with a lively town and easy access to the mountains and lakes. A short walk along the river and up Kendal Castle provides stunning views of the town and distant fells.

There are several options that we can suggest for accommodation. Most of our courses are held in the Riverside Hotel which is in the centre of Kendal and so any town centre hotel / B&B will be within about 15 minutes walk at most.

One very good website www.golakes.co.uk covers the whole of the local area because it is the Lake District National Park. From here you can search specifically for Kendal and check availability for the dates you require. The website covers Hotels, B&Bs, Guest houses & Inns, Self Catering Cottages, Camping & Caravanning, Hostels & Camping Barns.

The hotel in which we run many of our training events does offer discounted rates for those taking Sugar trainings. It is a 4 star rated and has wireless internet, a gym, swimming pool and jacuzzi available to guests. A couple of mid range B&B's that are close to the usual venue and have been very popular with returning delegates over a number of courses are Hillside Bed and Breakfast on 01539 722836 and Sonata Guesthouse on 01539 732290.

One B&B which has proved very popular at the ‘upper mid-range’ price is the Beech House Hotel, Telephone: 01539 720385, email: stay@beechhouse-kendal.co.uk

A very good value option is a B&B run by a good personal friend, Louise, which she calls “The Miniature B&B” – it’s a double room with en-suite shower and TV but there isn’t loads of space. It is very central and has it’s own entrance. Plus it guarantees a friendly face and is only £25 per night. Visit www.thetinybedandbreakfast.co.uk for more info. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the venue.

Another good value B&B option is provided by our friend Victoria - Comfy double bedroom in character cottage for those of you looking for cheaper accommodation. £25 per night will get you a bright light room with a double bed, feature fireplace, use of a large shared bathroom with a freestanding bath, separate shower and a DIY breakfast. Conveniently located 2 minutes away from Kendal train station, the house is just a short 5 minute walk to the Riverside Hotel where most Sugar NLP programmes take place. For those of you who do not want to venture 10 minutes into the town centre for dinner and if a take away does not take your fancy, a home cooked evening meal can also be arranged after your hard day’s learning!
